Glóredhel was an Edain woman of the House of Hador.

Biography[]

Glóredhel was the daughter of Hador and Gildis, and was the eldest sister of Galdor and Gundor. She married Haldir, Chieftain of the Haladin, and soon gave birth to Handir. In FA 472, Haldir was killed in the Nírnaeth Arnoediad, causing Glóredhel to die of grief shortly afterwards.[2][3]

Etymology[]

Glóredhel means "Golden elf" in Sindarin. The name comes from the words Laure, meaning "golden", and Edhel, meaning "elf".[4]
