Dallas Barnett (born February 29, 1964) is an Auckland, New Zealand-based American actor who played Bill Ferny Sr. in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Biography[]

Dallas was Born in Rochester, New York, USA, but spent most of his life in Dayton, Ohio. He is presently based in Auckland, New Zealand. He is an actor, voiceover artist, narrator and producer, known for The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug(2013), Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away (2012), Romeo and Juliet: A Love Song (2013)Contract Killers (2014) and Power Rangers DinoThunder (2004). Dallas has appeared on  Spartacus: Vengance  and in several action features, as well as lending his voice to several animated TV series in NZ. Dallas is presently starring in the webseries AFK as V'rugga the Orc Warrior.

Dallas started his career in the entertainment field working in nightclubs and local radio stations as a DJ, including the now-defunct 102.9 WING FM in Dayton Ohio. He is a sought-after voice artist for local and international TV and radio commercials, documentary narrations and corporate video.

Dallas is missing his right eye, but has not publicly answered how he lost it.

Dallas is mentioned in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition Extras, in a documentary about Bree, and is included in the 2013 "A Journey Through Middle-Earth" Google Chrome experiment.
