The One Wiki to Rule Them All

Ferry Lane was a short road located at the edge of The Marish‎‎ in the Eastfarthing of the Shire.

It led from the Causeway to the Bucklebury Ferry that crossed the Brandywine River into Buckland. At its entrance, there were two tall white posts and the lane itself was straight, well-kept, and edged with large white-washed stones. It ended where a broad wooden landing-stage was on a river-bank.[1]

It was at entrance that Goodman Maggot's wagon carrying Frodo and company met up with Merry and made their farewells to Mr. Maggot. After crossing the river, the hobbits could see a black figure that had followed them across the lane to the ferry landing.[2]
