Faramir Took was the son of Peregrin Took and Diamond of Long Cleeve. Born in 1430 Shire Reckoning, he later married Goldilocks Gardner, the third daughter of Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton. He became Thain of the Shire after when his father and Meriadoc Brandybuck left for Edoras and Gondor in 1484 Shire Reckoning. Pippin probably named Faramir Took after Faramir, brother of Boromir.
