Falathrim
From the One Wiki to Rule Them All, the Lord of the Rings Encyclopedia.
The Falathrim were the elves living on coasts of the western Beleriand during the First Age of Middle-earth. They are called the 'Coast People', 'Elves of the Falas' or 'Elves of the Havens'.
Sindarin Elves living in the Falas of Beleriand were in origin Teleri persuaded to stay in Middle-earth by Ossë, but in the course of the wars of Beleriand their ranks were swelled by Sindar and Ñoldor fleeing the armies of Morgoth. They were the first mariners and shipwrights of Middle-earth. Under their lord, Cirdan, they prospered for many years, although the Falas was invaded by Orcs of Morgoth between the first and second battles of the wars of Beleriand, and the Falathrim were forced to withdraw to their walled havens. Throughout the First Age the Falathrim built all the ships sailed by Men or Elves of Beleriand. They sent a force to fight with the Union of Maedhros.
When the Falas was overrun in FA 474, the surviving Falathrim removed to the Isle of Balar, where they continued to build ships and aid the elves and Men of Arvernien. When the Beleriand was destroyed after the War of Wrath, the remnant of their people and culture survived into the Second Age and Third Ages settling in Lindon and the Grey Havens.
