Elfhelm was born around TA 2985. During the War of the Ring, he fought in the Battles of the Fords of Isen with Théodred, who died there, and Grimbold. He also led a company under Théoden when they rode to Gondor to help them in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. His company also happened to be the company that Eowyn, under the guise of Dernhelm, and Merry, were in during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
He led the company on the right against the war machines and drove the enemy into the fire pits. He survived the battle and was left in charge of 3000 Rohirrim while the Company of the West rode to the Black Gate. He guarded the pass from Anorien and prevented invaders from attacking eastern Rohan. After the war, he was granted the position of Marshal of the East-Mark by King Eomer.
Portrayal in adaptationsEdit
In the live-action adaptation of Return of the King, Elfhelm's role in events is omitted. The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game later attributed his name to an extra briefly appearing in the background. The only video game to include Elfhelm so far is The Lord of the Rings Online, where he is first met during First Battle of the Fords of Isen.
