Eldarion (FO 43 ? - FO 220, r. FO 120 - FO 220) was the only son of Aragorn Elessar and Arwen Undómiel, King and Queen of the Reunited Kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor in Middle-earth. Through his mother, Arwen Undómiel, he is the grandson of Lord Elrond and Lady Celebrian of Rivendell and the great-grandson of Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn of Lothlorien. Eldarion also had several unnamed sisters, whose fates are unknown.

According to Tolkien's timelines, Eldarion was born in the year 43 during the Fourth Age. He became King of the Reunited Kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor in the year FO 120, after his father Aragorn Elessar died. King Eldarion ruled until his death in FO 220.

[edit] Behind the scenes

Tolkien had vague plans for a sequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy called "The New Shadow", a story set sometime during King Eldarion's reign. One of the few known details concerning this sequel is that it would have featured a Sauron worshipping cult. However, Tolkien died before he could begin the sequel. For fear of marring Tolkien's legacy, it seems unlikely that any of his descendants would attempt to write this monumental series.
