East
From the One Wiki to Rule Them All, the Lord of the Rings Encyclopedia.
The East of Middle earth includes the lands of Rhun, east is also used to refer to the armies of Mordor contrasting to the West of Gondor and Rohan. The lands are sometimes referred to as the Easterlingas, or the Isterlings. The Blue Wizards - Pallando and Alatar were said to have gone out there in wagons, but never returned. There is a long mountain range out there called Orocarni, and on both sides of it small nations of men and creatures unknown live there, similar to that of Middle-Earth. Though Tolkien never expanded much on this area.
Generally, throughout the three ages of Middle-Earth the east has often been the source of those who served Morgoth and Sauron and other enemies of the Free Peoples.
