E.V. Gordon was a Philologist and a friend of J.R.R. Tolkien. He worked together with Tolkien in many translations. He was born in 14 February 1896 and he died in 1 January 1938. After his died J.R.R. Tolkien and his wife, Ida Pickles, finished his last work, Pearl.
