Dol Baran

As depicted in The Lord of the Rings Online

Dol Baran was a hill in Rohan.

Dol Baran lay between Isengard and the Gap of Rohan, at the southernmost foot of the Misty Mountains.[1] It was covered with heather.[2]

HistoryEdit

Dol Baran was the place where Rohirrim had made a camp at which Pippin looked into the Palantír of Orthanc (a different location than in the third film), and was also where a Nazgûl, atop a Fellbeast, was seen flying. [2][3]

EtymologyEdit

Dol Baran is Sindarin for 'Golden-brown hill'.[4]

Portrayal in adaptationsEdit

The Lord of the Rings OnlineEdit

The location's only other appearance is in The Lord of the Rings Online, where it is a site of skirmish between Rohirrim and Dunlending forces.
