Ciryandil (TA 820 - TA 1015, r. TA 936 - TA 1015) was the fourteenth King of Gondor and the third Ship-king.

[edit] Biography

Ciryandil was born in the year TA 820 and succeeded his father Eärnil I in TA 936. During his reign, he continued Eärnil's naval policies and spent his life long defending the recently captured port of Umbar against the Black Númenóreans who had lived there before, and the Haradrim who wished to capture the port.

In TA 1015 after a reign of 79 years he was slain while Umbar was besieged. He was succeeded by his son Ciryaher (also known as Hyarmendacil).
