History
Edit
Celebrindor was the son of King Celepharn of Arthedain. He came to the throne in TA 1191 at the death of his father. Celebrindor's rule over Arthedain was a peaceful and uneventful one, as relations with the other splinter-realms of Arnor, Cardolan and Rhudaur, were good, and no evil threatened the realm as of yet. Celebrindor died in TA 1272 after ruling for eighty-one years and was succeeded by his son Malvegil.
Etymology
Edit
Celebrindor was a Sindarin name that probably meant 'silverlord' or 'silverlike lord'.
