Carnen
From the One Wiki to Rule Them All, the Lord of the Rings Encyclopedia.
Carnen is a river in Middle-earth. The word Carnen is the elvish equivalent of Redwater, the name for the river in the common tongue. Carnen originated in the Iron Hills and flowed southward before emptying into the River Running. This river, in turn, flows into the Sea of Rhun.
[edit] History
During the War of the Ring, in the year TA 3018, a large force of Easterlings under Sauron's command crossed and forded this river on their way to attack the Dwarvish realm of Erebor and the Human kingdom of Dale.
