Some Minerals in Middle-earth were naturally precious to the race of Dwarves. The most precious included iron, copper, tin, silver, Gold, and Mithril; all of which would have been mined and crafted by the Dwarves. Copper and tin were often mixed to create bronze. As he was the progenitor of the Dwarves (who created the most beautiful works with minerals on all of Middle-earth) the name of Aulë should be mentioned, being the Ainu most closely in tune with the substances of Arda.
