Bernard Hill is a British film, television, and stage actor who played the role of Théoden in the Lord of the Rings films.

Bernard has had many other roles, and is best known as Captain Smith in Titanic. His other supporting roles include movies such as The Scorpion King, Wimbledon, Joy Division, Franklyn, Valkyrie and Outpost 11, mini-series such as "The Grid" and British television shows like "Sunshine" and "Five Days".

Early LifeEdit

Hill was born in Blackley, Manchester, Lancashire. He attended Xaverian College, and then Manchester Polytechnic School of Drama at the same time as Richard Griffiths. He graduated with a diploma in theatre in 1970.
