Belecthor I was the fifteenth Ruling Steward of Gondor.
Born in TA 2545, Belecthor I was the son of Húrin II. Belecthor I succeeded his father as Steward in TA 2628. The Corsairs of Umbar were the major threat to Gondor at the time, although no major events are recorded. Other than minor skirmishes no events are recorded during his reign. Belecthor had two children: Morwen, a daughter, and Orodreth. Belecthor I died in TA 2655 at the age of 110 years old after a rule of twenty-seven years. He was followed by his son Orodreth.
