The Aratar (Sindarin: Exalted) or High Ones of Arda are the eight greatest of the Valar. In descending order of power they are Manwë, Varda, Ulmo, Yavanna, Aulë, Mandos, Nienna, and Oromë. Melkor, the most powerful of all, was removed from the order upon his rebellion.

The Aratar are also referred to as the Eight and the Holy Ones of Arda.
