Alcarondas was as lavish as it was martial, with many Golden masts and a specially made throne for the king. Like most of the ships in the fleet, it was manned with many strong slaves to man the oars when the wind wasn't in their favor.
The name is probably Adûnaic, but seems more Quenya in form and pronunciation. In an earlier version of the text, the name for the ship was'Aglarrâma'. When the name was changed, it was spelled 'Alkarondas'.
